Here it is! Shapeshifter’s annual summer rundown, with all the info you need to infuse your holiday season with the 5-piece juggernaut’s iconic blend of dub, electronica, drum ‘n’ bass, soul and stadium rock.
After quickly cementing new single single ‘Break Me Down’ as a live fan fave across the fields and festivals of Aotearoa last summer, the band have spent most of 2019 deep in the creative process, working on a new studio album for 2020.
Shapeshifter’s springtime shows (where they are road-testing new material) at Methven’s Memorial Hall and Auckland’s Powerstation sold out in record time – a testament to a loyal audience that knows the band will deliver a monumental multisensory experience every time.
This summer Shapeshifter are also getting the gang back together with New Zealand’s best drum and bass DJs and most legendary MC: The Upbeats & MC Tiki alongside party starters Sunshine Sound System making three festival appearances – at Summer Solstice in Hawkes Bay, Rhythm and Alps in Wanaka and the Bay Dreams Pre-Party in Nelson plus three celebrations in Mt Maunganui, Whangamata and Matakana.
