This January- Rock ‘n’ Roll raconteur Jon Toogood will pack away his distortion pedals, dial down the Marshall amps and restring his trusty acoustic guitar for a run of summer shows across New Zealand.

The last 2 years have been loud for Toogood-recording and releasing the critically acclaimed album ‘Haja’ with The Adults, touring to celebrate 30 years of Shihad and partaking in a series of concerts to celebrate 40 years of Neil Young’s seminal ‘LIVE RUST’ album.

There has been no let up as the end of 2019 approaches with Jon having taken part in 2 special nights at the ‘Civic Theatre’ to celebrate Baz Luhrmann’s iconic Romeo and Juliet soundtrack backed by a thirty- piece orchestra. He even found the time for a brief foray into live TV to present the Vodafone NZ Music Awards.

Armed with yarns and tunes both young and old (spanning two Adults albums, three decades of Shihad and an undisclosed duration on this Planet of Sound), this is Toogood unplugged, unaccompanied and unmasked.

With a musical history 30-years deep, rock ‘n’ roll raconteur Jon Toogood has lived it all – gathering for himself a veritable encyclopaedia of unforgettable yarns and memorable songs along the way.

Toogood’s illustrious career has been a long and loud road – rocking out with Shihad, collaborating with some of New Zealand’s latest and greatest (most notably through his project The Adults, working with Anika Moa, Shane Carter, JessB and Aaradna to name just a few) and hosting his very own retrospective radio show ‘Planet of Sound’ on Radio Hauraki.

It makes sense, then, that the man should be ready for a quieter moment: cue Jon Toogood’s solo career, which sees him armed only with his acoustic guitar, getting up-close and personal with his audience.

This is Toogood unplugged, unaccompanied and unmasked – telling stories and singing songs that have shaped his life as only music can.
